Chef Chan in Markham has been in business for more than 20 years. They are a well know local favourite for Chinese Takeout. If they are as bad as what some reviews had mentioned, is hard to believe how they can stay open in business for all these 20 years. Overall, their foods are good with reasonable price. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and would try their best to accommodate customers requirements. Never really had any troubles with them. Judge yourself and you decide. You are your own critique.

Fast, consistent, inexpensive, tasty. Just a few words to describe Chef Chan. It is not the most upscale place for Chinese food but no one expects that going in. The orders are prepared extremely quickly and the value is great! The online dinner special for four is a hidden secret and would highly recommend getting it.

Been going here for over 15 years. Always great food and reasonably priced. Their dinner for 1 specials are probably the best you can find. A generous portion of fried rice, egg roll, pop, and side (I get breaded shrimp!) for $7.

I visit this spot a lot since I work right next to it. I like how their service is always great and they keep the place clean consistently. Prices are convenient and they serve large portions.

Made a huge order for my baby shower. Not only was chef Chan's the most affordable place around (I live in Stouffville) for catering, but the food was delivered hot and on time, it was absolutely delicious!!! And the person who delivered was so enthusiastic and kind, it turned us into regulars! We will definitely be going back to chef Chan's and using them for our catering needs from now on. Guests didn't stop raving about the food either!

Ordered a few party trays for delivery. Food arrived fresh, tasty, and hot! The fried chicken wings were very good. On the menu, it says each party tray can feed up to 15 guests, either the portions were a bit smaller or my guests just eat a lot, I would say it feeds more like 8-10 per party tray. Friendly staff.

Wont deliver 1 light south of Steeles/McCowan, despite their website saying it's an extra $4.00 for deliveries and NOTHING about busy times. When you point this out, they make excuses. Poor service, misrepresentation. Avoid this ridiculous restaurant.

Just ordered two combos for one (general tso chicken and teriyaki chicken ) and only one combo came with a side and egg roll like stated on the menu. From other reviews I see that not getting what you order is the norm lately. This was my first time ordering and obviously the last.

Won't be doing business with a restaurant that clearly lies about their menu then claims no order exists. I placed order and friend went to go pick it up. I Ordered 3 items and 2 of those items are suppose to have egg roll and chicken fried rice. I called to complain the order didn't have this and was told no order existed and I was repeatedly called a liar. Not once did they ask for my name, my friends name or number. I gave them the info and they again called me a liar. Really? Explain this to me? I also edited out my friends name and number.

Friendly service at the counter but food is terrible. We ordered the hot and sour soup, chilli chicken, sesame beef and Cantonese chow mein. The only item with some flavour was the sesame beef but even that was below mediocre. Nothing we ordered seemed in any way authentic or even tasty for that matter. Will stick to places like congee queen as they are always consistent and menu item are pretty close to the standard flavour and taste. Will never order from even if it'll is the only option. The hot and sour soup wasnt even palatable. The only thing that tasted good was the fortune cookies =)

The food is great. The phone manners and customer service is not. I asked for the price and the lady yelled at me, said she had to add it up, and when I said ok I'll wait she said no and hung up on me. She also kept interrupting me when I was ordering saying oh we dont serve that as I was reading off their menu. When I pointed that out, she said oh...yes we do have it. Very rude. But food is good.

I have enjoyed ordering from Chef Chan once to twice a month for my family for the last 4 years until a few months ago, when I noticed a change in the quality of the food. I’m not sure if this may be due to previous reviews suggesting new ownership?One of my ‘go to’ dishes was the sweet & sour chicken balls; however, on recent occasions I found the chicken to have a ‘tougher’ more ‘grizly’ constancy...I hope some one from the restaurant reads this review, & goes back to the ‘original’ brand of chicken used, as I look forward to once again being a regular customer.

Best Chinese food in the world. Usually I don't like Chinese cuisine but is chef can ever delicious! The chicken balls actually have a good amount of chicken in them, unlike other places that are 90% batter. The lemon chicken is wonderful but the best thing; the Cantonese fried noodles, will ensure you come back at least weekly! Service is always great, we've been coming here for at least 15 years and the quality of food and service have stayed top notch. Nothing compares to Chef Chan!

Our go to place for local Chinese food. Food quality is consistent, service is great and the dinner for one selections are very good. Love this place.

Be very careful with what you order as they will misplace items on purpose and when you contact them or go in person they will call you a liar and say we gave you the item or items. My family and I went into the location and placed a large order. Went home to take out the food and they didn't give us 6 items of what we ordered. We went over and showed them the receipt who the guy claims we never placed an order with him. He also claims we must've gotten a blank receipt and wrote down false info. This is coming from the same person who thanked us for the large order.Never again will I deal with the shady business practices that they do. So now we wasted our money on an order that wasn't full and is missing quite a lot as 6 items is half of what we ordered.

It's alright, I wouldn't say it's super amazing since the price is decent I would recommend for a "don't know what to eat but just drop by to grab some food" times.

We’ve been ordering take out from chef chan for years. Food is consistently good every time. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food. Chef Chan is well know by everyone in the area for his amazing customer service and tasty food. Only thing I can criticize is that he opens at 2:30pm, which can be a little late in the day when your ready for lunch but it’s worth the wait.

Food was not fresh, noodles were tasteless and egg rolls were like rubber.

I had the chicken fried rice on two occasions & it seemed to get better with each serving, superb Chinese takeout.

This was a great take out restaurant for many years always friendly and affordable with good quality and consistency. In the past year we have seen a steady decrease in both quality and consistency when ordering. I can no longer recommend this restaurant and its disappointing as I really did enjoy it for years.

Ordered beef rice noodles, beef with snow peas, shanghai thick noodles, jumbo battered shrimp, general tso chicken, bean curd with fried vegetables and spring rolls. Low quality Chinese food, lacks flavour. Save your money and order somewhere else.

Great Chinese takeout place - I'm never disappointed with the quality of food or service. Food quality is comparable to a sit-down Chinese restaurant like Congee Queen or Asian Legend, but less expensive, as this is a takeout only place. My wife and I each enjoy the 'dinner for one' deals with an option for noodles, and the sweet and sour chicken balls are very nicely done. It's great in a pinch when we're too busy to cook dinner. Really friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. I have yet to find a better option for takeout.

They over charge for delivery and are not very friendly on the phone. The quality of food is not worth there prices..they over charge in every way. Will not be ordering from there again. I recommend everyone do the same. Find a better Chinese restaurant..there are many in Markham. Stay away..poor rating

Had a dinner for 4 combo C, $40 with tax, delivery, and tips included. Best value in town. Food taste 👌 in spite of the affordable pricing. Recommend the Singapore rice noodle, Szechuan beef, and beef chop suey!
